This Isn’t Just Any Headlamp: It’s the Light My Father Left Me

HOTYAN began with a memory from the seaside: an old headlamp, my father’s quiet strength, and a small beam of light that stayed with me long after he was gone.

When I was a child, my family lived by the sea.

Before the sun came up, the ocean wind was already there. The night had not fully faded, and the sound of the waves kept hitting the shore. I often saw my father wearing a headlamp as he got ready to go fishing.

It wasn’t an expensive light. It didn’t come with beautiful packaging. It didn’t have a brand story back then. It was simply a tool my father wore on his head while he worked to support our family.

A quiet seaside scene before dawn

But to me, it was never just a headlamp.

It was the light before dawn.
It was my father’s silhouette leaving early and coming home late.
It was the ocean wind, the sound of the waves, the fishing nets, and the weight of everyday life.

I still remember it clearly. One day, the strap on that headlamp broke. For many people, that would have been the moment to throw it away and buy a new one. But my father didn’t throw it away. He found a piece of old cloth, stitched the strap back together, and kept wearing it out to sea.

I was still young at the time. Watching him repair something old and keep using it didn’t mean much to me then. Years later, I finally understood. It wasn’t just about saving a headlamp. It was about the way people from that generation faced life.

When something broke, they fixed it.
When life got hard, they carried on.
When the night was dark, they turned on a light and kept moving forward.

Later, my father passed away.

But that headlamp stayed behind.

The old headlamp left behind by the founder's father

Every time I see it, I remember the seaside of my childhood. I remember my father walking into the night with that light on his head. The beam was small, but it helped carry our family through many long days and quiet nights. It stayed with him through countless mornings and evenings, and it left me with a memory of home, of my father, and of a life built through hard work.

Years later, I created HOTYAN.

To me, HOTYAN is not just a brand that sells headlamps. It began with that light in my memory. It began with the old headlamp my father once wore.

I want the HOTYAN A120 to be more than just a lighting tool. I want it to be dependable. I want it to be the kind of light you can count on when you need it most. Whether you are working at night, fixing a car, camping, fishing, or simply trying to find your way in the dark, it should be there with you, lighting the path ahead.

Because I still believe that a truly good tool does not have to be the most beautiful one.

It should be durable.
It should be reliable.
It should stay with you through the nights no one else sees.

That is what the HOTYAN A120 means to me.

It isn’t just any headlamp.
It is the light my father left me.
And it is the light I hope to pass on.

The light behind the story
